Sign on the dotted Line for LIFE

Click and read!
Sign up today

For many years I have felt that we all need to sign our organ donor card!

We have a special lady in our church that has a donated heart for 19 years now! 19 years of smiles, tears, joy, love, Spring, Winter, Summer, Autumn, 19 years more of seeing her grandkids, spending time with her husband, Praising GOD!, helping others, 19 years more of seeing the world around her. She is in wonderful health, a blessing of a gift for her! Just this week I found out a friend that I had not connected with in awhile has liver cancer and waiting on a donor! I try my best to encourage all to sign their donor card on the back of the Driver's License and you can go here or to what ever state you live in and sign up so if something does happen to you, your organs will go on helping people to experience LIFE!! If this is something you have not thought about, it's time to start thinking!!

Some Amazing Facts

THE BASIC FACTS The total number of patients waiting for an organ transplant today numbers more than 103,000.

On average, eighteen people die everyday in the U.S. while awaiting a lifesaving organ transplant. Another name is added to the waiting list every 11 minutes--48,928 in 2008. In the TDS area (Tennessee and Virginia), about 4,600 people are on the waiting list, yet annually only approximately 380 people donate one or more organs upon death.

A total of 27,958 organ transplants were performed in the United States during 2008.

Yet in 2008, there were only 7,985 people who donated one or more organs upon death. There were another 6,214 living organ donors. In 2008, 6,229 Americans - one person every 84 minutes - died while waiting for a transplant.

A wonderful new show on NewsChannel 5 Three Rivers is all about organ donation. Sunday Nights! Watch it and you will see what it means if you are on the recieving side of getting a donation!
Take a moment today and sign up and encourage all your family to do so!

The Love of Chocolate

Doesn't just the sound of the word "CHOCOLATE" make your mouth water with delight. There are very few of us in the ole world that doesn't like it. Oh I know a few in my family, but for the most of us, Yes, The word Chocolate just does wonders in our soul. Thought I would gather some information that would be fun and helpful for all us chocolate lovers!! So gather you some chocolate and sit back, eat and read for a few minutes!

People who are interested in reaping the health benefits of dark chocolate should consider purchasing miniature Dove chocolate bars -- an M&M Mars product that is carefully processed to preserve the flavanol in the chocolate. “M&M Mars has a lot of research out there that’s peer reviewed, medically published research,” “That’s the one that I would buy, just because I haven’t seen any research from Hershey’s saying how much [flavanol] they’re trying to maintain from the processing.”
It is recommended consuming one miniature piece of dark chocolate a day for maximum health benefits. “If you eat a dark Hershey kiss, that would be 25 calories [of dark chocolate)" Did you read that? One Piece!!

By The Way Great Info

What are flavonoids?
Flavonoids are naturally-occurring compounds found in plant-based foods recognized as exuding certain health benefits.
Flavonoids are found in a wide array of foods and beverages, such as cranberries, apples, peanuts, chocolate, onions, tea and red wine.

“That one little piece is not going to be a significant contribution of calories to your diet, so you’re not going to gain weight from that or anything.

The only potential danger is some people just can’t stop at one. I find this funny, most chocolate lovers are this type of personality, if it is close to you, it is saying, I am just waiting to be eaten :) If you’re that type of personality, then you really need to be careful.

Forms of Chocolate
Before you grab a chocolate candy bar or slice of chocolate cake, let’s look at what forms of chocolate would be ideal over others:
When cocoa is processed into your favorite chocolate products, it goes through several steps to reduce its naturally pungent taste. Flavonoids (polyphenols) provide this pungent taste. The more chocolate is processed (such as fermentation, alkalizing, roasting), the more flavonoids are lost. Most commercial chocolates fit this category.
Dark chocolate appears to retain the highest level of flavonoids. So your best bet is to choose dark chocolate over milk chocolate.
Some chocolate manufacturers are studying ways to retain the highest level of flavonoids while still providing acceptable taste.

So as you read so far the Dark Pure Chocolate is where your health Benefits are!! Yes the taste I think is the milk chocolate which will melt in your mouth, BUT NO health Benefits!! :(

Sad to say! So next time you are enjoying that Creamy Delight think wow all Fat NO Health, and for me that is a hard thing to do LOL :)

So what are the Benefits of this Dark Chocolate WOW it is really pretty amazing stuff!

Dark chocolate (chocolate made without milk) lowers blood pressure Dark chocolate has antioxidants Stearic acid - one of the fats in chocolate - can boost HDL cholesterol (the good kind) ... Read More Chocolate has trace amounts of essential elements and vitamins such as potassium, magnesium, B1, B2, D and E Chocolate contains serotonin, which acts as an anti-depressant, and theobromine and phenylethylamine, which act as stimulants There are only benefits to eating DARK chocolate. And dark chocolate will: -Decrease blood pressure -Improve circulation -Lower death rate from heart disease -Improve function of endothelial cells that line the blood vessels -Defend against destructive molecules called free radicals, which trigger cancer, heart disease and stroke -Improve Digestion and stimulate kidneys -Has been used to help treat patients with anemia, kidney stones and poor appetite!!! What a mouth full, this stuff is awesome! What are we waiting on!!

A Warning about Eating too Much!

Too much chocolate can also give you a soft of jolt because dark chocolate has caffeine in it. So they more you eat you may get that sugar chocolate rush a bit too much. But if taken in moderation, you will see the health benefits sooner rather than later. Too much of it will give you a belly ache and just the right amount may prevent you form having a heart attack.

So only eat one small Bar a chocolate bar containing only 30 calories.

Time & Memories

My middle daughter is getting married in just about 1 month now, that will take both my girls out of my house, leaving my 17 year old son still at home. I can't believe the time has slipped away so quickly from the moment they were each born. As I am getting older I treasure those memories of my babies growing up, praying that I don't forget. I have always been a huge photo taker of my kids and family and I am very thankful for that. I glance back thru photo albums now and tears of joy roll down my cheek, knowing that we give them the best childhood we thought possible. It would be so nice, to reach back in time and just for a moment grab that memory back and relive it, cherishing it all that much more. We have to rush thru LIFE raising our kids, taking care of them, seeing to their needs, just being mom and dad, then we turn around and they are getting married.

Time and Memories, thank God for the time he gives us with our familes. Thank God for the memories that I have of my children and husband for the last 28 years. I am more blessed than I deserve. Oh how I love being a mom and a wife, I have cherished this time that God has given me, now I will cherish my memories nowing that time is gone. Yes there will be more memories to make with grandbabies and things to come along the way, but my babies time is gone and memories is all I have. So take a moment today and look back on your memories, and if your Memories are yet to come, Grab hold of them each day, cherish them, love them, and thank God for them!
